About The Society

Meetings are held every Thursday at 7.45 P.M.

There are formal meetings on alternate weeks where you can :-

  • see films made by members, visiting clubs and visiting speakers
  • hear visiting clubs and speakers talk about films and film making techniques
  • show your films and hear comments by a panel of experienced film makers
  • take part in the annual competition and other ‘challenges’ and ‘theme’ evenings

There are Workshop evenings on alternate weeks where you can :-

  • receive help and instruction on film making techniques and technical matters
  • join in general discussion
  • sort out equipment problems
  • shoot films or titles
  • or just chat

Video projection

  • All videos at meetings are projected on to a big screen
  • The video projector is available for hire to members and local clubs

Annual show of members’ films

  • The chance for members to show their films on a big screen to a wider audience.

Moviepage

  • A monthly newsletter which keeps you in touch with what is going on.

Annual subscription

  • £10 for the first member of a household and £2 for each additional member
  • £5 for students and junior members (under 18).

Attendance fee

  • £1 payable at each meeting attended, which includes tea and biscuit.
  • 50p for students and junior members

Visitors welcome

  • We like prospective members to attend three meetings before deciding whether to join. Just come along, or contact our Membership Secretary for more information

the national organisation for amateur movie makers
